Greenwood Cemetery
Brooklyn, New York

A leading tourist attraction since the 1850s, this park-like cemetery draws visitors from around the world.  With a population of about 600,000 (deceased) residents, it is one of the country's largest cemeteries.

We arrived at the heavily guarded gate (it's a National Landmark), were determined to be non-threatening and waved through immediately.  It was an absolutely beautiful day, and everyone from the visitors to the workers were friendly and chatty.

Also, love their unofficial slogan:
"Come visit while you can still get out!"
